ESSENTIAL OILS

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)
Bergamot essential oil is cold pressed from the rind of the bergamot fruit. It has a lovely, uplifting sweet citrus fragrance with mild spice undertones. As a cicatrisant it is valuable in wound healing and is wonderful for balancing skin tone. Its uplifting fragrance cheers the mood and refreshes the spirit and mind.

Carrot Seed (Daucus carota)
Carrot seed essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds of wild carrots. It is considered a premier healing oil. Its high carotol content gives it its skin-rejuvenating properties, and it is noted for its skin balancing effects and is considered beneficial for both dry and oily complexions. It has a unique, light, woody and sweet herbaceous aroma.

Chamomile, Roman (Anthemis nobilis)
Roman Chamomile essential oil is steam distilled from Roman Chamomile flowers. It has been used for thousands of years for its therapeutic, beneficial effects. It is a particularly gentle oil and has a very soothing and calming effect. Used extensively in Europe for skin care, Roman Chamomile is noted for regenerating skin.

Cypress Leaf (Cupressus sempervirens)
Cypress essential oil is distilled from the green needles of the Cypress tree, a tall evergreen usually growing up to 147 feet. Cypress has a restorative, toning and astringent effect. It is also reputed to reduce scar tissue including acne scars. Cypress is considered an excellent essential oil to use for reducing lymphatic congestion which can reduce the appearance of cellulite. 

Frankincense (Boswelia carteri, Boswelia serrata, Boswelia sacra)
Frankincense essential oil is distilled from the resin of the Frankincense tree, known as "Liquid pearls from the Tree of Life".  Its cytophylactic properties encourages the growth of skin cells; it is a wonderful skin tonic, and balances the skin. It is noted for its ability to nourish prematurely aging skin. Various scientific studies have noted Frankincense's properties as a powerful immunostimulant.

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens)
Geranium essential oil is steam distilled from the tops of geranium blossoms yielding a full-bodied, fresh and pleasingly spicy floral fragrance. Geranium oil is noted for its use in skin care in treating acne, dermatitis, and eczema. It is valued for its ability to keep the skin supple and liven skin tone. It has a pronounced calming effect on the nervous system and fosters a sense of well-being and emotional balance.

Grapefruit (Citrus x paradisi
Grapefruit essential oil is cold-pressed from the rind of ripe grapefruit. It has an uplifting, sweet, citrus fragrance which refreshes the mind and spirit. Grapefruit essential oil is particularly noted for its effectiveness in reducing cellulite. Laboratory studies have demonstrated that Grapefruit essential oil increases the metabolism of adipose (fat) tissue. Its astringent qualities make it effective for cleansing and refreshing skin.

Howood (Cinnamomum camphora
Howood essential oil is appreciated for being relaxing and stimulating to the mind. It is also considered to have bactericidal, anti-microbial, anti-septic, aphrodisiac, and anti-depressant properties. There are reports that it can play a role in tissue regeneration and as a cellular stimulant.

Lavender (Lavendula augustifolia
Lavender essential oil is distilled from the flowering tops of Lavender plants. Lavender is a versatile essential oil with a very fragrant, distinct, herbal floral scent. It is highly regarded for its ability to promote tissue regeneration and accelerate wound healing. It is also lauded for its therapeutic, soothing effect on the nervous system.

Lemon (Citrus medica limonum
Lemon essential oil is a highly regarded detoxifier and has antiseptic properties that make it useful for acne prone skin. It is excellent for toning and brightening the skin. Its wonderfully fresh, bright citrus fragrance imparts feelings of joy, happiness and a bright, refreshed energetic mood. *Lemon essential oil increases skin sensitivity to sunlight so sun exposure should be avoided for 12-24 after using leave on products that contain this oil.

Lime (Citrus aurantifolia)
Lime essential oil has superb astringent properties and is an excellent skin toning oil. It is credited with helping to reduce the appearance of aging, minimize wrinkles and fade age spot. It also has disinfecting properties and can be used to facilitate healing of minor wounds. Lime essential oil has a wonderful, bright, uplifting fragrance that re-energizes fatigued moods and promotes optimism and cheer.

Lotus Blossom (Nymphaea nouchali)
Lotus blossom is renowned in aromatherapy for its ability to dissipate anger and negative emotions. Its captivating beautiful and exotic floral scent has a powerful emotional and spiritual effect and creates a feeling of peace and serenity. The Lotus blossom opens at the dawn of every morning representing new beginnings and promoting self confidence.

Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)
Italian Mandarin Essential Oil’s bright, energizing aromatherapy properties uplift the mood with optimism and cheer. It is known in France as the 'children's remedy' and used to soothe restlessness and anxiety. Mandarin essential oil is highly regarded for its skin toning properties enhancing smooth, clear skin and diminishing stretch marks.

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha
Myrrh essential oil is distilled from the natural oleoresin produced by the Myrrh tree. It has a spicy, balsamic, woodsy, musky scent. It is known to be very soothing and regenerative. Irritated, chapped skin has shown dramatic improvement after the application of Myrrh essential oil. It has  been used for millennia, highly prized for its therapeutic properties and calming, soothing influence. *Do not use during pregnancy.

Neroli (Citrus aurantium
Neroli essential oil is a rare and precious oil produced from the blossoms of the Bitter Orange tree.  It has an enchanting, exquisite fragrance. Neroli is highly valued for its skin benefits, particularly for mature skin, reported to stimulate the growth of new healthy cells. (Salvatore Battaglia, The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy). It is known to be beneficial for emotional stress-related disorders, and is considered one of the most important essential oils in aromatherapy for treatment of anxiety and depression.

Orange Sweet (Citrus sinensis
Orange Sweet essential oil is produced from the fruit of the Sweet Orange tree. It has an uplifting sweetly citrus aroma which many say produces a calming effect, anti-depressant effect and eases away tension and anxiety. Orange Sweet also has an anti-inflammatory, soothing effect and is a wonderful addition to bath salts for a relaxing, tension easing bath.

Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini)
Palmarosa essential oil is distilled from leaves and flowers of Palmarosa grass, a close relative of lemongrass. It balances, moisturizes and rejuvenates the skin keep it supple and maintaining elasticity. Palmarosa has natural antiseptic properties and is helpful for skin conditions such as acne and athlete's foot.

Petitgrain (Citrus deliciosa aurantifolia
Petitgrain essential oil is extracted from the fresh leaves and young branches of the Bitter Orange tree. It has a beautiful floral, woodsy, citrus fragrance. Petitgrain is valued for refreshing the mind, relieving stress, alleviating nervous exhaustion and it has natural deodorizing properties, making it a perfect addition to bath salts.

Rose (Rosa centifolia
Rose contains high amounts of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant which helps protect skin cells from damage. The natural oils found in roses help lock moisture into the skin, keeping skin feeling smooth and it is particularly good for sensitive skin around the eyes. As a natural astringent, rose helps tighten pores and restore suppleness for a glowing complexion. Its cytophylactic properties facilitate cell regeneration. Rose oil is superb for calming and soothing
the mind and alleviating stress, anxiety and tension.

Rosemary (Rosemarinus officinalis
Rosemary essential oil stimulates circulation and acts as a natural astringent and antioxidant. It offers excellent skin toning and firming properties and brightens a dull complexion. The lovely comforting fragrance of our unique Rosemary essential oil energizes, cheers and revitalizes a tired mood.

Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora
Rosewood essential oil is steam distilled from the Rosewood tree. It is noted for its positive effect on skin elasticity and soothing, regenerative effect on the skin. It has a sweet, woodsy, floral aroma and creates a warm and happy atmosphere.

Sandalwood (Santalum alba
Sandalwood essential oil has a soft balsamic, sweet aroma which produces a calming soothing effect. Sandalwood is noted for its ability to hydrate the skin very effectively. Several preliminary studies, including a study in Anti-Cancer Research (Jan-Feb 2008 and Jul-Aug, 2007), have shown that sandalwood has an ability to prevent skin cancers caused by UV exposure and toxic chemical exposure due in part to its high santanol levels. It is an excellent, calming and balancing addition to skincare products.

Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia
Tea Tree essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the Tea Tree. Its antimicrobial properties makes it an effective natural treatment for acne. It also has a moisturizing and renewing effect on the skin. The British Medical Journal (1933) recognized tea tree essential oil to be a powerful disinfectant. It has a pleasing, uplifting, light floral aroma that is positive for well-being.

Ylang Ylang Extra (Cananga Odarata
Ylang Ylang Extra is the highest quality of Ylang Ylang coming from the very first minutes of the exacting distillation process. It is valued in skincare for balancing the skin and in aromatherapy is used to uplift the feelings, release tension, restore confidence and is considered an aphrodisiac.

CARRIER OILS

 Abyssinian oil (Crambe abyssinica 
Abyssinian oil is a lovely light non-greasy oil that has a molecular structure not found in any other naturally occurring oil. This exquisite oil is rich in essential lipids and improves skin’s texture and tone. It offers exceptional moisturizing properties and is easily absorbed.

Apricot Kernel (Prunus armeniaca
Apricot kernel oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E which deliver essential nutrients to the skin. It is a light oil, absorbs well and extremely hydrating. Its high Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) content enables the skin to maintain moisture. Because apricot kernel oil has anti-inflammatory properties it is considered a good oil to use to soothe minor skin conditions such as eczema.

Argan oil (Argania spinosa
Also known as Moroccan oil, Argan oil is one of the rarest oils in the world. Produced by the Berber women of Morocco, it is considered a very effective anti-aging oil due to properties such as the high levels of vitamin E/tocopherols (natural anti-oxidants that help neutralize free radical damage) and saponins (skin-softening agents). It also has anti-inflammatory properties (inflammation is a main cause of aging). Its high protein levels improve the skin's elasticity.

Blueberry (Vaccinium Corymbosum)
Blueberry Seed Oil is cold pressed from blueberry seeds. It is a potent source of tocopherols, carotenoids and natural antioxidants. This wonderful oil is packed with essential Omega 3 fatty
acids, containing a high percentage of alpha linolenic acid. It has excellent free radical scavenging properties and is an ideal ingredient for facial serums, lip balms, and eye creams.

Buriti Oil (Mauritia flexuosa)
Buriti oil comes from the fruit of the Buriti tree, a large palm found in various regions in South America. It is referred to as The Tree of Life by local inhabitants. Buriti oil is a wonderfully nourishing oil for the skin; its nutrients provide superior moisturizing, and it improves the elasticity of the skin. The fruit of the tree is rich in beta carotene and fatty acids. It has been used to treat sun damaged skin and its natural antioxidants offer protection from free radical damage.

Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera
Coconut oil is easily absorbed into the skin, has strong moisturizing properties and is excellent for all skin types. It is credited with increasing the flexibility and elasticity of skin, supporting cell regeneration and providing internal moisturizing once it is absorbed. Coconut oil is also rich in lauric acid which has anti-microbial properties making it effective against acne, and it contains a large proportion of medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) which have been credited for stimulating the metabolism to aid in weight loss.

Grapeseed (Vitis vinifera
Grapeseed oil is a light, easily absorbed oil that is noted for its excellent moisturizing properties. It contains proanthocyanidins which are natural antioxidants, helpful for diminishing sun damage and diminishing free radical damage. It is also highly valued for its skin toning properties.

Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)
Jojoba oil is rich in vitamin E which is an effective antioxidant, reducing free radicals which are one of the primary causes of aging. It also contains linoleic acid which facilitates cell regeneration. Jojoba is a wonderfully hydrating oil and helps to maintain skin moisture, minimize wrinkles and it softens and balances the skin.

Kiwi Seed Oil (Actinidia chinensis)
Kiwi seed oil is cold pressed from the Kiwi seed. It is an excellent oil to use for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction and has also been used in natural treatments for skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. It contains over sixty percent of the essential fatty acid ALA (Alpha Linoleic Acid) which maintains moisture in the skin and is a rich source of Vitamins C and E, as well as magnesium and potassium.

Meadowfoam Seed (Limnanthes alba
Meadowfoam Seed oil contains over 98 percent long-chain fatty acids and is very nutritive to the skin. It is a superb skin softener and humectant, helping the skin to retain moisture. It has a silky smooth texture and is non-greasy when applied.

Olive oil (Olea europaea
The Egyptians, Greeks, Phoenicians and Romans made extensive use of olive oil. Olive oil helps to maintain skin's elasticity, and promotes a radiant, smooth complexion. High in natural antioxidants, including vitamin E, it guards against free radical which can accelerate the aging process.

Passionfruit Seed Oil (Passiflora incarnata)
Passionfruit seed oil is very nourishing for the skin containing calcium, flavanoids, phosphorous, ascorbic acid and potassium. it has antibacterial properties and is useful for treating acne. It is also an anti-inflammatory and can help reduce swelling and irritation of the skin.

Pomegranate Seed Oil (Punica granatum)
Pomegranate seed oil has excellent moisturizing properties and has been shown to reduce wrinkles, while firming and moisturizing the skin. It improves skin elasticity and texture and does a wonderful job of softening skin. Pomegranate seed oil is rich in polyphenols and fatty acids which are regenerating to skin. The results of a recent study revealed the ellagic acid contained in Pomegranate seed oil reduced destruction of collagen which could prevent photo-aging.

Radish Seed Oil (Raphanus sativas)
Radish seed oil contains vitamin C, phosphorous, zinc and some B-complex vitamins nourishing the skin and providing important antioxidant properties which protect against free radical damage. It is a natural emollient and its fatty acids improve the skin’s suppleness.

Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil (Hippophae rhamnoides)
Sea Buckthorn oil provides vitamins A and E and is rich in fatty acids which are considered important in protecting, replenishing, moistening and restoring the skin. Sea Buckthorn oil has been used in Russia to treat sunburns and skin conditions such as eczema and it has even been used to treat radiation burns.

BOTANICAL EXTRACTS

Date Seed Extract (Phoenix Dactylifera)
Date palm kernel extract is rich in phytohormones and has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. According to a clinical study in the International Journal of Tissue Reactions, date palm kernel extract exerted anti-aging properties and significantly reduced skin wrinkles. Study results showed that topical application of date palm kernel reduced the total surface of wrinkles by 27.6%. Moreover, date palm kernel reduced the depth of wrinkles by 3.52% and visual improvement was seen in 60% of the volunteers treated.

Iris Florentina Extract (Iridis extractum)
Iris Florentina Extract is rich in natural isoflavones from the Iris flower. It stimulates the skin and strengthens the dermis, which can become weakened due to the aging process. It reduces the depth of wrinkles, provides excellent hydration to the skin and improves elasticity and skin tone.

Rice Bran Extract (Oryza sativa)
Rice bran extract is a natural botanical and is rich in fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants. It nourishes, hydrates and softens the skin.

Sunflower Extract (Helianthus Annuus)
Sunflower extract is an excellent source of vitamins for the skin. Rich in beta-carotene, it protects the skin and helps to prevent premature aging. Its essential fatty acids include oleic, palmitic and linoleic, all which promote the formation of collagen and helps to improve elasticity.

BUTTERS

 

Avocado (Persea gratissima)
Avocado butter has excellent moisturizing properties and has strong antioxidant properties. It contains chlorophyll which has been shown to combat skin irregularities. The lecithin contained in avocado butter contributes to the continued hydration of the skin, reducing wrinkles while keeping the skin soft.

Cupuacu (Theobroma grandiflorum)
Cupuacu butter is highly beneficial for dry and damaged skin. It has beneficial fatty acids that promote deep and long lasting hydration and improved skin elasticity. Its high level of phytosterols enables a strong capacity to absorb water and help skin maintain moisture and suppleness. It also contains polyphenols which combat free radicals in the tissues.

Mango  (Mangifera indica)
Mango butter is rich with antioxidants and fatty acids including oleic acid and stearic acid. Its natural emollient properties are ideal for softening and moisturizing skin. It is reputed to be effective in wound healing, skin regeneration, reducing scars and as a natural sunscreen. It is an excellent moisturizer to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and fade stretch marks.

Olive Butter (Olea europaea)
Olive butter is derived from cold pressed olives. It has superb natural antioxidant and emollient properties and is rich in essential fatty acids. This gentle soothing butter is excellent for softening and conditioning skin, improving skin suppleness and texture and is also a good choice for toning the skin.

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii)
Shea butter comes from the nut of the Shea tree in Africa. It is rich in fatty acids and contains a high amount of vitamin E. Shea butter is valued for its superb moisturizing properties and protecting this skin from the sun. It has a high amount of oleic acid which provides regenerating and anti-inflammatory properties as well as softening the skin. It is also used to reduce skin irritation and redness and soothe chapped skin.

SALTS

Dead Sea Salt (Maris sal)
Rich in minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and sodium, Dead Sea salt is ideal for the bath to relieve muscular pain, and regulate cell activity and stabilize fluid levels due to the interaction of its minerals. Calcium is effective at increasing circulation and preventing water retention. Magnesium is important for slowing skin aging and calming the nervous system and bromides are effective at relaxing muscles and easing muscle stiffness.

Himalayan Salt (Sodium chloride)
Considered the purest salt in the world and also known as Himalayan rock salt, it is hand-mined and harvested from ancient salt beds deep under the Himalayan mountains in Tibet. Himalayan salt contains over 80 trace elements and minerals, including calcium, potassium, copper, magnesium and iron. It is excellent in baths for relaxation, stimulating circulation, and removing toxins. It is also beneficial for relieving sore muscles, skin rashes, and wounds.
